This document contains important information you should know, before using TarotWorks. It describes what you need to use TarotWorks, the special behaviour that TarotWorks has when you open it the first time, the Tarot Decks Sampler that comes with this release, compatibility issues, and the other documentation in this package.

  11. TarotWorks requires:
  12. • System 7 or later
  13. • at least 4 MB of RAM memory
  14. • 2.5 MB of free hard disk space
  15. • Any sized monitor
  16.  
  17. TarotWorks also supports color, QuickTime 1.6 or later, the Speech Manager, and Apple Guide, if they are available. A 68LC040-class or better Macintosh is highly recommended.

  22. • Starting TarotWorks for the First Time

Since Tarot card reading programs aren’t exactly commonplace, TarotWorks guides you through creating a reading the first time it is opened. We recommend that you read the material thoroughly (it’s quite brief), and follow the suggestions. When you’re done, you will have produced a complete reading, with summary, in just a couple of minutes!
  25.     If you would like to see this again, just throw away the file “TarotWorks Preferences.” (It’s in the Preferences folder, inside the System Folder.)

  28. • TarotWorks Decks Sampler

  30. This package includes “samplers” for TarotWorks’ first two Tarot card decks, “Rider-Waite Tarot Deck®” and “Golden Dawn Tarot Deck.” These documents are in the TeachText/SimpleText format.

  33. • Compatibility
  34.  
  35. TarotWorks seems to be incompatible with some third-party extensions and control panels when 32-bit Addressing (or the Modern Memory Manager on Power Macintoshes) is turned on. If you experience trouble opening TarotWorks, turn off this feature in the Memory control panel and restart your Macintosh.

  38. • Where’s The Documentation?

This shareware version of TarotWorks includes a very brief manual that covers the basics. When you register TarotWorks, you will receive a complete manual with enough “meat” to help make you an “old hand” at the Tarot in no time flat! (See the document “How to Register,” for details on registering TarotWorks.)
